This has happened intermittently for a couple of years. Usually I pull key out and try again it will work. Today I tried for half hour without success. Anybody else with this issue?

Do you have your key on a Ring with a bunch of other heavy keys? If you do then try starting it with the Jeep Key by itself because if your'e key is worn or the inside of the ignition is worn then the key may not be sitting correctly in the ignition causing the computer not to recognize it and not let you start the engine.

Both keys are the same . I've done some searching and it looks like it's a wireless control module; at least it is on the 2002 to 2007 liberties .

If it's a key recognition issue, mopar systems will start then die about 1-2 seconds later.

If it doesn't fire at all, it's something else.

Check your fuel pressure. Check the relays. K-1,2,& 4.
Check your fuel level. This can occur when a fuel pump is going bad with 1/2 - 1/4 tank of fuel or less.
Check the ASD fuses M19 & M21.

Got it running! Checked spark=there; took fuel line off=no fuel. When the key was turned on you could here the pump but it wasn't pumping. It had been low on fuel and because it was backed into my inclined driveway, it basically was out of gas as the pump wasn't getting access to the fuel. Levelled the Jeep and it fired lol . My Lesson, don't run it empty

Thanks for getting back to us with the cause and fix. You'd be amazed how many folks don't.

This exact thing happened to a KA owner last year with 1/4 tank of fuel. But in his case the pickup on the fuel pump had broken/fallen off in the tank. 1/4 tank + it would pick up fuel in his sloped driveway, 1/4 tank - it would not.
