I've never had any issues with my Mopar trailer wire harness. It's a high quality unit and is pug and play. |

I got my 4-wire from etrailer (hopkins brand) for my 04, and I've had no issues with it since install in 2009. Easy install as well. Only use it 5 or 6 times a year. KJDailyDriver 2004 Liberty Sport 4X4 |

Mopar and the e trailer harnesses work pretty good. Or if you're electrical savy you can tap into the factory wireing and do it that way. I did. The only issue with that is that the connections have to be water tight to prevent the factory wireing from corroding. Thats where a headache will begin. |

Do you need the 7 pin or just the 4 way flat? The Curt 4 way has done me good since 2010 and wasn't expensive at all. |

OEM 7-way is what I have (no brake controller installed as of yet). It uses relays and separate fuses to power the trailer lights. This prevents overloading the wire circuits on the rig. I tow a lot (30 plus times a year), so this was important to me. 10 years come June and not one issue.

Looks like a decent kit. It also appears to get trailer light power directly from the battery. Instructions can be had here. http://www.hopkinstowingsolutions.com/doc/11142485.pdf Does your pop-up have electric trailer brakes? Some of them do. If so, I'd consider a 7 way plug so you can utilize the brakes. If your not going to use them now, at least you are set up for later(buy once install once). One thing I forgot to mention in my previous post. With the OEM harness, dealer install, also comes sway mitigation programming in the computers. With out a brake controller installed it has kicked in a couple times when I took a corner to fast. It works very well. |

No trailer brakes. When the boss wants a new trailer it will probably have them. |

If that is the case, I'd look into a 7 way harness. It will cost a little more now, but then you are set up for the next trailer, and you won't be throwing away the money and time on a 4 way. |
