Ok, hopefully someone has a solution.
I replaced my water pump today on my 2008 Jeep Liberty, but had to remove the alternator to have enough room to get the old pump out. I disconnected the negative terminal during this.
After finishing, I try to start the Jeep...but nothing. I have no power anywhere except for the dome light. I also cannot get the car out of park.
I tried to jump off the car, but that didn't help.
I did notice that if I disconnect both terminals for a few minutes then reconnect...the horn beeps. But then I'm back to the same situation.

Any ideas? Could it be something to do with the key fob? That stopped working about 6 months ago, and didn't cause any problems then.

Check the ground strap & other electrical connections from the alternator to the battery / TIPM (black fuse box under the hood). Getting nothing at all sounds like a main circuit is not being completed.

I'll try that.
I believe it has something to do with the IOD fuse. If I pull the fuse, all power comes back on but the horn and wipers go nuts.

IOD= Ignition Off Draw.
With that out nothing ignition related should work. You should also get a "NO FUSE" message in your cluster with it out.
Sorry to say, but I think you have a major short in the TIPM.
