If you are looking for something in the stalks, you won't find any. They run on CAN (computer network). Your best bet, and easiest to get to, for a dash light source is the PRND light bulb in the center console (Automatics only)OR/GY wire I believe. Another option would be the 4X4 switch, it also has a light wire OR/GY as well.
Test them to be sure before you hook into them. Also remember to add a disconnect just in case you ever have to remove the console.
The bezel around the shifter is just clipped in so you can lift it out to get to the wires.
BUT!!! Use caution is this area!!! The main airbag controller is located just in front of the E-brake. Don't mess with those wires without first disconnecting the Neg (-) battery cable and waiting 10 minutes!

Your welcome. The aforementioned light wires, you should be able to get to without messing with the controller wires.
But I figured it is better to be warned then to be sorry.
Most of the time it is actually the side airbags that pop off. Then you are looking at replacing the headliner. It has happened to a couple people I know. One had his rig at a shop and they popped off the airbags... You'd think a auto shop would know better. :banghead: The other was working on his E-brake handle/cables and pulled the plug out of the controller.
Here is a Pic of the hand brake and the airbag control box from another thread.
Airbag controller is the black box looking thing on the right of the Pic. Directly in front of the hand brake spring rest tag.
