Post subject:  looking for small "DiY" projects

Hey everyone,

I really like spending time with my KK especially now that Friday and Saturday nights are warmer, I love to be outside tinkering with the jeep. After cleaning whatever dirt or stuff is in it out, I dont' really have much left to do... does anyone have any suggestion as to quick DIY projects or even mods I can do on my own that would require low money or none at all?

Thanks!

There are a good number of ideas in here:

I would recommend the hood strut mod. It makes future under-hood work easier. But take a look through the list and you'll see lots of options from electrical add ons to routine maintenance you can do yourself.

I added a rear view mirror with compass and temp. (run a true switched power circuit IO use the moon roof power and it drained the batt)
Add LED lights in the cupholders.

So the compass thing drained the battery? I'd be interested in getting the dash board that has the gas mileage and compass indicator... any idea how to go about doing that?

You mean the additional screen that has compass, temp, tire pressure etc? That's called evil. As far as I know it's not possible to add (or very expensive to add). It's 1 of the few options you can't add in later basically.

Ur KIDDING... I figured it was something I could add lol... figures, I couldn't find any DIY threads on it. darn, thats the one thing really missing from my jeep rn other than roof rails.. oh well. If I find another KK thats scrapped and has it I may steal it and see if from there what I can do...

Got the mirror working using M7 and a box staple. Definitely not the recommended method and I'm going to replace it with a fuse wire adapter deal.
