Hi all,

I just installed a double din stereo in my '12 KK using the Metra 95-6511 dash kit. The install was straightforward enough but for some reason the stereo seems recessed and looks a bit funky. Does anybody else with this dashkit notice this as well? Are there any other dashkits that would make the stereo more flush to the trim? Thanks

I recently had a Kenwood stereo installed by Best Buy and they installed the 99-6511BB (not 95) trim kit in my 2012 KK and it looks great to me... no gaps.

Well I ended up pulling out the Dremel and started hacking away since it seems there are no other options in dash kits. All I had to do was cut out a few notches on the corners to make the kit flush.

When I first put the deck back in the dash the bottom was flush but the top was still recessed a bit. I remedied this by adding a few washers on the top two screws in between the mount and the dash to make it stick out further. Figured I'd share with some pics for anyone else that might run into this issue.

Now it looks nice and clean!
