There's honestly lots to worry about when going to 4". I don't like rakes, so I'm never going with a true 4" lift from JBA. The rear springs just sit too high, even after they sag, for my tastes.

Run the 2.5". Grab an extra 2 rear spring isolators (hell maybe even buy 4, I think they're only like $7). The front is trial and error to get to the height. Rear is pretty standard. I'm not sure exactly where the 2.5" springs will sit you (I'm mix matched as of now, and too lazy to swap my rear OME springs for my 2.5" JBAs since it sits and rides nicely....). Worse case scenario add 1 isolator to the top of the rear springs to add a 1/2". You can safely add 2extra per side to make it an even inch.

So just go with the JBA lift kit package from JBA. Everything is JBA springs and the shocks are Bilstein, the isolators are there to just level out rear with the front correct? And what do the isolators look like? they just go on top of spring right.

I would just to keep things simple. The additional isolators are to raise the rear if you aren't happy with the height. The front is adjustable so unless your rear sits over 4" you can always make the front sit level.

They isolators are almost like rubber donuts. You have 2 on each side already. 1 upper and 1 lower. With the extras you'll just add them to the top. There's a piece of metal that holds them secure.

What I currently have would be comparable to the Silver package + A-arms. No reservoir on the shocks.

Thanks for the input Scar0! I think 2.5 JBA lift sounds like best route for me and if I really really wanted to add another .50" or .75" I could always do that with rear isolators.

I promise I only have 2 more questions!

Have you had any experience with the JBA total control rear shocks or would the bilsteins be better choice?

What is the benefit of having a reservoir on the shocks?

I've been running the JBA Total Control on my 03 for about 15-16,000 miles
Have the regular 4 inch coilovers on the 04 ( set at 4.5 inches ) with of course longer gas rear shocks.
I have also installed over 40 gasser and CRD lifts using OME springs etc and ran two different OME setups on the 04 before I went coilovers
Just adding that so you have an idea of what I have experienced as far as overall ride
IF you have the extra bucks go for the total control rear shocks they are just that much better
Can adjust them easily takes literally 2 minutes at most
But ride and handling are great

HAHA sounds like you could put a lift in with your eyes closed.
So spend the extra bucks on the total control shocks instead of reservoir shocks or just regulars.

And my last and final question is am I supposed to choose the 3.7L option or CRD HD springs. I know with the OME most suggest going HD but what about JBA. Not worth it?

I'd just stick with the gasser springs. Especially if you're not running extra weight up front.

Begging your pardon for butting in, but unless I've completely misunderstood the conversation, If you're going with the JBA adjust-a-strut coilovers, isn't the 3.7 vs CRD spring issue moot, since they come with their own smaller OD spring?

You can get them with two different weight springs. CRD and Gas but I wouldn't go for the CRD unless you have a CRD or gas with a winch and skid plates.

Mystery Cleared. Thanks

So, with a CRD and myself at 365# and a dog in the passenger seat, I would need CRD spring on the drivers side and V6 spring on the passenger side...

You order them with the springs you want, no front bumper regular, with aftermarket bumper and winch go with the CRD ones

Haha mixing and matching different springs doesn't sound like a good idea :-)r .

But say I ever wanted to get, for example at the helm bumper, and add winch. Would I have to upgrade to the CRD springs? Is there a way to just buy the springs? Idk brings up a whole new issue.

If it is possible, and if you ever do it, don't try to DIY it. Take it to someone with a professional proper spring compressor, not those Claw & Allthread diy ones.
Even if others have done it and not had a problem, and post such info, the ones you don't hear from are the ones that tried it and it didn't work. the risk of severe injury is significant and very very real.

Find someone with something like this, that uses a safety cage.

Don't try to use something like this (even though this is an unusually heavy duty one.) Anything goes wonky and it could take off anything from a finger to a part of your skull.

If he is getting the adjustable jba struts then you can remove all tension with the adjuster. No need for a compressor.
