Hello,

I'm new to the forum. I glanced through and d idnt see a post with this question, but my apologies if there already is one.

I have a 2012 Liberty OK and am hoping to remove the stock grill/facia and replace it with something more land rover looking like an open mesh or something without the vertical "jeep" bars.

Can anyone direct me to someplace I could purchase something like that?

Thanks!

Josh

Hi Josh,
I've been on the forum for 6 years and have never seen an aftermarket grill for the Liberty. However, people do paint them or plasti-dip them different colors. I've also seen people cut away the vertical plastic slats and put in gutter-guard (an inexpensive metal mesh that actually looks pretty awesome). Once you remove the grill you can pop the black plastic back off of it, trim away the slats, and sandwich the gutter guard between the plastic and the grill, iirc. You can also spray paint that gutter guard black or gray or whatever before you install it.
Hope this helps.

Do you need instructions for removing the grill?
Open the hood.
Remove 8 plastic fasteners from the top of the grill.
Unscrew and remove 2 larger hexagonal rubber hood bumpers.
Move the hood latch cable up and out of the way.
Unclip the grill clips located at the upper outside corners of the headlights.
Using a small screwdriver, unclip the hidden grill clips in the gaps between the turn signals and headlights by manouvering them outward towards the turn signals.
You should now be able to take the grill off, and the clips on the bottom of the grill will release last.

The 7 slot grill is what makes it stand out as a Jeep, I have seen a few JKs done like you are talking about and to me looks like crap, sorry honest opinion
