Hey guys after scouring PIDs and other coded I know squat about I was able to find the transmission temp sensor. I now have a live output of the temp while driving. mine sits right around 165 after driving a bit. here are the instructions on how to set it up. I have a 2008 KK

1. Open the torque app. (you dont need to be connected to your OBD at this point.
2. From the main screen click the settings gear at the bottom left od the screen.
3. Click Settings on the popup window
3. Click Manage extra PIDs/Sensors
4. click the 3 dots in on the top right corner
5. click Add custom PID
6. Enter the following information
OBD2 Mode and PID = 22b010
Long name = whatever you want
Short name = whatever you want
minimum value = 0.0
Maximum value = 100.0
Scale factor = x1
Unit type = F
Equation = ((A*256)+B)*(1/64)
OBD Header = Leave it blank
Diagnostic start = leave it blank
Diagnostics stop = Leave it blank
Overrides PID = Does not override any PID
7. click OK
8. click the 3 dots in on the top right corner again
9. click Add custom PID again
10. Enter the following information for wake up
OBD2 Mode and PID = 3e01
Long name = whatever you want
Short name = whatever you want
minimum value = 0.0
Maximum value = 100.0
Scale factor = x1
Unit type = leave it blank
Equation = A
OBD Header = 7df
Diagnostic start = leave it blank
Diagnostics stop = Leave it blank
Overrides PID = Does not override any PID
11. Click ok
12. Connect to your OBD
13. click Real time gauges
14. click the settings gear at the bottom left of the gauges window
15. click Add display
16. click Digital Display
17. not scroll through the sensor list and find the one you created for wake up and click on it
18. select the size. I usually use small
19. drag the display where you want it
20. click the settings gear at the bottom left of the gauges window again
21. click Add display
22. click Digital Display
23. not scroll through the sensor list and find the one you created for temp and click on it
24. select the size. I usually use small
25. drag the display directly over the wake up display
26. read the display and enjoy your transmission temp output!

it should, I'm fairly certain I have checked tranny temps on another members kj with my torque app.

Torque actually already has this PID defined. From Step 4 tap "Add Predefined Set" and tap the "Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Mercedes" option. You'll then have three new PIDS (all trans temp related).



For what it's worth, my Liberty is a 2012 and it works with the "Jeep Pre 2012" PID.

Torque rocks!

Please note that the app is far more buggy then the scangauge. And since I last worked on getting the trans readout on my 12 it did not read out correctly.

One more thing, does the trans temp rise slowly as you idle and drive or is it a fast rise in the trans temp. If it is a fast rise in the temp the code and app are still faulty.

If anyone has the base TPM system that doesn't tell you which pressure is low, you can add the following PIDs to see the pressure on the app:

Mode/PIDs: 2120, 2121, 2122, 2123, 2124 (one is for spare tire)
Units: PSI
Equation: A
Header: 600

You'll have to let air out or put it in one tire at a time to see which tire is which PID

I don't know for sure, but I attempted to translate torque to scangauge. Keep in mind this is after a day of drinking and smoking brisket so it might not work. Shouldn't REALLY break anything if I'm wrong. You'll need to change the 20 in the TXD and RXF to 21, 22... etc. for each tire.

TXD: 06002120 - 0abc xx yy, where abc is OBD header in torque, xx yy are the mode and PID

RXF: 02610320 - 02 zz 03 yy, where zz is xx+40 (might need to change the 02 and 03 to 01, 02 or 03, 04)

RXD: 1808 - AA LL where AA is the letter from equation in torque: A=18, B=20, C=28... and LL is 08 for single letter, not sure how to handle any torque PIDs that use more than one letter. (might need to try 0808, 1008, 2008 if 1808 doesn't work)
