Ok.... two hours into trying to get to the fog light bulbs on a 2008 Liberty.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

How the frick do you squish, wriggle and bend your arms to get to them?! I managed to cram one arm down, but there's absolutely no way I'm getting a second arm down there to release the clip. Trying to do it one-handed just isn't going to work since you can't see what you're doing once your arm is crammed down there, and holding the bulb still with one hand while popping the clip with a screwdriver sure isn't happening.

I thought maybe coming up from the bottom would work but, nope. No way my arms are going through that little hole in the body.

Changing a bulb is usually a few minutes job. It shouldn't be this hard. Am I missing something? I know older model Liberties had a little "trap door" to access the bulbs, but there's nothing like that on the 2008.

How did other folks get this done?

There isn't a good way to replace those without removing the light housings from the front of the Jeep first.

1. Pop the hood. Move the hood latch cable out of the way.
2. Remove 8 black plastic inserts from the top of the grill housing.
3. Unscrew and remove 2 rubber hexagonal hood bumpers.
4. Unclip grill at upper outside corners.
5. Using a flat small screwdriver, unclip grill inside the gap between the grill and the turn signals. One clip on each side that is similar to above, but hidden.
6. Pull the grill forward from the top, and as you do the bottom clips should release. Put the grill aside for now.
7. Unscrew headlight housings.
8. Change fog lamp bulbs.
9. Reverse steps 1-8 to reinstall grill.

There are several reasons for learning this procedure on your Jeep.
- changing fog light bulbs
- blacking out your headlights http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=55424
- gutter guard mod for grill
- easy access to the engine oil filter through the drivers side headlight area http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=81051

That worked like a charm - thanks! It also made running the wires from my bull bar lights a heck of a lot easier. :)
