I went to wash, wax it, and while there I decided to open the roof up. Well, when the back was coming forward it snapped. Came out of track. A black triangle wedge broke, as I think the pins go in it to slide back and forth..
Why the hell did I buy this POS.
Any idea what the cost will be to service the roof. Or is there any tutorial on how to fix it yourself?
Seems like a deep hole in dealerships with no real guidance to repair it, or TSB's

Depending on what broke, you may need whats called the "rear drive assembly"(#68032421AA).
It is the furthest rear bow.
I do not have a slider, so all I can do is look at parts lists and diagrams...

Great writes ups etc. Thanks. If I had the patience and the manual I would do this. But, I just want the dealership to tell me whats wrong first.
Wish there were more pics though.. Sometimes it makes all the difference in the world.

I hear ya. Pics would be great, but no one has really posted any.
Without one to look at up close, its hard for me to really give any guidance.
Even the manual is confusing without a real life one to compare to.
Wish there was more I could do...
Anyway, keep us posted on what you find, and how you fixed it.

Jeep customer service emailed me back this morning. They said they will work with Dealership to see what they can do. No obligations, just seeing what can be done to assist in this due to warranty just expiring. All our work, oil changes etc have been done there.. They will hopefully realize this is good for all to help out. not threatening, just good customer service. Its a very well taken care of jeep.

Plot thickens. Not a good 4th of July for me. Jeep says there is no extended warranty. Strange, I had warranty pay for wheel sensor, window regulator and dash..
Researching it further, I found what may be the warranty, and slick salesman.
I was told I had a Jeep warranty. true. It was/is a Jeep Hendrick Auto Guard extended warranty..
So, I emailed, phoned them requesting assistance tomorrow.
darn drama..

Really depends on what is broken...
The above part is $251.72

If it is just the slider assembly it is only a $4.54 part.
Plus labor if you don't do the work yourself.

Rick hendrick jeep took behicle for 95 dollar assessment as to what is wrong, and to ask Hendrick AutoGuard if they will work it. Hendrick Autoguard asked me if I ever had the car in for roof maintenance at all. Only one time, for excessive noise that happened around 76kmiles.. I think it was more due to real bad weather and highway speeds that was causing it, but it was exceptionally loud.
So, I took that in with me, as she instructed to the dealership. should know something today.

3200 total , taxes, labor etc. darn Jeep, just shake my head.. Good thing is 2 fold, I get a new roof as he explained all the parts broken, cables, brackets etc. It was a mess in there.
So, both sides of the roof will be new.. Labor was , I think 800 sh .. I have to see the invoice when it returns.
New roof, and 2 year unlimited miles JEEP CHRYSLER warranty parts n labor.

Ouch!
Will the "Jeep Hendrick Auto Guard extended warranty" cover any of the cost?

Well at least you now can claim water damage at the hands of the service Dept. Free new interior... 8)

I have pictures and time stamp.. If there is any water damage, I will file a claim through my insurance, if they cant do something to fix it.
I am defeated right now. I am just at that point where, I am calmly going to have them walk the car with me. If any water shows, I will show them the pictures, and see what tap dancing they will do.

Got Jeep back today. No evidence of water leaking, stains etc..
Before I get too excited, I drove 70 mph and the wind noise is virtually non existent. I will give it a few days on that.
Other than, it is what it is.

I have the exact problem with my roof. Not looking forward to dropping that kind of coin to fix it.

Glad to hear there is no damage from the rain.
Sorry to hear they would not assist with the cost. So with the "warranty" you purchased, is it only for the drive train?

The warranty covers all parts and labor for the roof repair, for two years unlimited mileage.
