Ok guys, so I went to install a Daystar 2" poormans lift the other day. I pulled everything out, got the lift plate attached to the strut assembly and I began to put that thing back in. I then realized that the KK already had a new strut assembly by the previous owner with Old Man Emu components which is longer than stock. It appeared that the geometry of everything, with the suspension being longer already and the body lift, it just would not squeeze back into place. The spring base was resting on the CV axle and I could not get the strut assembly back into the lower A arm even with some counter jacking etc.
Sooo.. I did not have a spring compressor on when trying to reinstall it, because I thought I had stock suspension and could work it in without it. With the OME, obviously I couldn't do it. I am just having a hard time wrapping my head around the geometry of everything as it is not my forte.
Question is, Can the KK take the suspension strut lift and the two inch plate (poor mans lift) on the strut assembly also? It just looked like there was no way I was going to get the sway bar back into position and get the spring base off of the CV axle. If I have a spring compressor, just compress the hell out of it and bolt everything back up to the knuckle before un-compressing it and it would work?
Did I miss a step or is it just not possible?
Thanks for the help, I would like to get the clearance for my 265/75/16s I have on as they are pretty tight.
