I am doing filter change on 2012 auto. Are you putting rtv om pan only, or doing gasket also. I have seen both.

I went with the lube locker gasket, no RTV. Haven't had any leaks and makes future filter changes much easier.

I think that is the same brand I used on the Vette... hmmm, I need to look into getting one. Its not cork or rubber, correct?

They are a very specialized high tech gasket that works really well for transmission pans and differential cover installations.
I just used one of their gaskets to install a G2 differential cover on my Jeep rear axle and it worked great!
Transmission will be next!
Best part, no sealants required!

What I do is put RTV on pan side only then the gasket. That seals gasket to pan and only gasket seals to trans helping even regular gasket stay in place and no scraping off RTV at least not anytime soon, and if it does need removing can do all standing up on bench. So far I haven't had to change gasket on any of mine since doing .
Don't forget to consider putting drain in pan while you have it off, Makes future changes less messy.

I installed it, filled it. Dry as bone, at least the pan section. The drain plug, 265-818 Dorman pan with drain plug, had a little wetness to it today. No drips, just a little wet transmission fluid.
Dorman said the drain plug is torqued 18-22ft/lbs. Its a 17mm headed bolt. That seems awful low.
I sent an email back saying it was wet, and the 18-22ft/lbs seems wrong, as well as what type of gasket it on there. Looks copper.
