I made a flag mounting point using a closed eye bolt, two nuts, a locking washer, a medium sized bungee cord with hook ends, and the factory front license plate. I used two adjustable open end wrenches to assemble it, but you can use any wrench that will work. I also used a flag with built-in bolt and nut attachment hardware. Take the front plate off and use it to make sure the closed eye bolt fits inside one of the license plate holes, and that the two nuts don't pass through. Also make sure the flag's bolt and nut doesn't pass through the head of the closed eye bolt. Once you're finished getting these supplies, reattach the plate.
Using your hand, screw one nut completely onto the closed eye bolt. You can tighten it further using the two adjustable open end wrenches if desired.
Slide the closed eye bolt and nut assembly into one of the lower front license plate holes. From behind the plate, slide the locking washer onto the bottom end of the closed eye bolt, and, by hand, screw the other nut completely onto the bottom end of the closed eye bolt. Use one wrench to hold the head of the closed eye bolt horizontally, and use the other wrench to very tightly tighten the bottom nut. There will be a lot of twisting force on this assembly during use, so it's important to tighten it well and prevent it from coming loose. Make sure to hold the head of the closed eye bolt horizontally, as this is where the flag will mount.
Insert the flag into the head of the closed eye bolt, and tighten it, making sure it's securely in place. Finally, attach one of the hooks of the bungee cord to the closed eye bolt, between the flag and the plate. Attach the other hook to one of the two silver-dollar sized steel holes underneath the front of the vehicle. You may need to put a few knots in the bungee cord to ensure a tight fit. This bungee cord will hold the flag away from the vehicle, preventing it from hitting the bodywork during rough maneuvers.
That's it! You've made your very own flag mounting point!
