Be ready to spend alot of $$$ to do it right to run 33" tires.

You will hate it and regret it if you half a*s*s it.

According to Jeepin By Al, here is the rule of thumb for lift height and tire size for Liberties.
Stock, 29” tires
2.5” lift, 31” tires, 4.10 regear recommended with 31’s
4” lift, 32” tires but 4.10 or 4.56 regear required
6” lift, 33” tires but 4.56 or 4.88 regear required

While a 6” lift package with a cradle drop is available for the KJ, It is not for the KK. Some severe cutting would be needed to stuff 33’s on a 4” or 4.5” lift and rubbing may still be an issue when turning or articulating the suspension.

Thanks for that. I have a fabrication company so the cut work and fitting is easy for me.
The re gearing seems to be the most important part. JBA just looked at their stuff and I may go with the gold package.

I just picked the 2008 Liberty up for a grand. Previous owner Girl, Was texting and rear ended the car in front of her, Also she wasn't insured! I ordered a used hood new radiator and some other parts, Removed the bumper, Wont be needing that. Or the wheel flairs. Building my own front clip for a winch and shorty bumper with steel wheel flairs incorporated into it. Fun weekend project in about a month. If I learn to post pictures I will post up. Then I can start on the back stuff.

Johnny.

Pics have to be saved on the web with someone that allows third party hosting, and linked from there.

I personally have mounted 33's (285/75r16) on my liberty and I was at 4.5-5 inches of lift.

With the pinch welds knocked in they would have fit fine but clearances were tight.
I'll post a couple of pictures shortly.

Regearing would be highly advised at that size due to the heavier weight and larger diameter from stock.

A small cradle drop of 1-2inches would keep your CV angles in tolerance.

At the end of the day I am running 265/75/16 (32in tire) on about 4.5 inches of lift and I'm very happy with it's performance. Once you start pushing your lift that high there is maintenance that needs to be kept in check, for example I will be upgrading my drive shaft and putting in a small cradle drop to alleviate driveline stresses that pushing the lift this high has caused.

If you have questions please feel free to reach out to me. I'll do the best I can to answer!

The JBA adjust a struts can lift the front higher than 4”, but the problem becomes CV angles if you go much beyond 4”. At 4.5” the CV’s might not last as long, but it can be done. You might also have steering rack issues with 33’s. For the rear, JBA 4” springs could be given an extra rubber isolator on top to get you up to 4.5”.

TIJKK Thanks for the picture, I was thinking about doing the same thing. Question, Are the springs progressive. Also may i ask what your kit ran you and if you have a parts list, I guess its less then the JBA . sorry about picking your thoughts and hard work. not :D
:D
I am getting closer to my project being road ready, Again i picked up a front end damaged Liberty 08 and have it all back together now. However there was a noise coming from the Bell housing area of the Trans. I dropped it off at a local transmission shop to look at I figure something got pushed back or bent slightly in the crash. I should know more tomorrow, He said he may pull it and take a look inside, I said then go ahead and rebuild it, Might as well if its out. 117000 so,oooo..... No surprise this is a thousand dollar project car so I'm having fun and cant wait to lift it and play.

Trust me stick with 4 inches at most and 32s, any more just opens the doors for a wide range of issues. Lifted over 50 KJs have over 200,000 lifted miles on one of my KJs
