A few weeks ago I had the water pump replaced at a local shop. It seems to have fixed the coolant leak I had, so great news there. But ever since, my serpentine belt has squealed like crazy when accelerating from a stop, or even just touching the gas here and there. I suspect that some of the degreaser they used on the front of the engine to clean it up before surgery got on the pulleys and/or belt. Is there an easy way to clean this off? The other option could be my belt tensioner might be shot. What would you do next?

I had a 460 in an E350 van that a new serpentine belt squealed like that when I had the water pump replaced in it. I tried everything I could think of, even completely scraping the gunk from the grooves in all the pulleys.
What cured it was taking it to the DIY car wash, and using the hot soapy, blasting it for a couple minutes straight at the crank pulley and belt from the bottom while it was running.
It squealed and surged and complained till the water was all expelled, then it gripped and never squealed after that. I don't know if it was antifreeze or wax or grease or what, but getting it all cleaned out did the job.
Continental has since taken over Goodyear belts, so I don't know if a version is made in that fitment, but I've always had a great preference for either Gates Fleetrunner or (formerly) Goodyear Gatorback belts.

Edit: Looks like they do!
