[quote="Elite732"]JBA 2.5" lift installed 10/2014 and now has 60k miles on it. So I have been hearing a little squeak in the rear of my jeep but didn't think much of it. Today I was rotating my tires and gave a quick glance over all components while I had the Jeep on the lift. I noticed on the rear driver side that the spring had cracked near the bottom. The spring had rust around it so had to have been cracked for some time. Good news is that the spring settled down and does not look like it will come out on its own. I called Marlin at JBA but missed him as he went home for the weekend so I will have to wait until Monday to speak with him.

I've been on the forums for sometime and have never read about this issue. Has anyone heard of this? Anybody have a suggestion on what to do?

 Wow, I’ve been with LOST since 2011 and haven’t seen this before. Looks like you were just unlucky. I think you’re doing the right thing by contacting Marlin. JBA has a good reputation for customer service and for quality that they’ve earned well over the years. Fingers crossed for a new set of rear springs!

Thanks for the confidence boost Lauren. I'll make sure to update this thread once I speak with Marlin.

I saw this once with an OEM spring on a KA, but never heard of JBA springs having issues. Mine are still solid as a rock.

Well JBA customer service lived up to the hype. Called Marlin this morning and left a message. Received a call back within minutes. Explained to him the situation and within an hour I already had a shipping notice from Fedex. I didn't have to beg or plead my case. Couldn't be happier with the excellent customer service from JBA.

8) And that is why JBA is the best! Quality products and great customer service. If it's not right, they seem to always make it right...
To bad more companies these days don't take a lesson from their example.

I've been recommending JBA when Al still owned it.

So far I've seen 3 coilover shock failures 2 clevis failures, 1 other Spring failure and 4ish upper control arm failures from JBA. Granted these were mostly early edition components and his build quality has only improved. But I'd figure I'd put what I've seen first hand. Not on my vehicle but on friends jeeps I see on a frequent basis.

Jba warranty was there for these people even on a second occurrence with one of the coilover issues. Stand up company.

Glad you were able to get your issue sorted

Issue not 100% sorted as of yet. Received the new springs but they are a different diameter (slimmer) than what I had originally purchased with my kit. The new springs now hit the upper bump stop mount when I go over any bumps. I spoke to Marlin about this and he noted that "yes" the springs have changed but "no" he does not have them in stock. A temporary fix would be to grind the flange around the bump stop to get ~.25 inch clearance. Marlin is checking with his manufacturer to see when they can ship new springs. The saga continues...
