Post subject:  Door lock actuator on 2009 Liberty
Hello All,

I am having difficulty replacing the door lock actuator on my wife's 2009 Jeep Liberty. I removed the trim and the interior panel pretty easy, but getting to the actuator has been :furious: :furious: :furious:.

Has anyone here replaced a door actuator? Any tips? Tricks?

You have to remove the outside handle nuts also.
On the inside of the door near the shut face is a rubber plug you need to remove to get to one of the handle nuts, also 3 screws on the shut face holding the actuator.

But you also need to release the lock tab at the bottom of the window so you can side the glass up. The tab goes into a hole in the bottom of the glass. You will need to lower the window to get to the tab. Press the plastic tab thru the hole in the window. Be careful here, as the tab is not real strong and can break. If it breaks, you will need a new carrier plate.
Once loose, you will need to manually push the window glass up and prop it in the closed position, to remove the carrier plate.
When you reassemble be sure the tab goes back into the hole in the glass.
