Hey guys I'm trying to replace my upstream o2 sensors and I'm having some trouble disconnecting the harness, does anyone have any tips on this? I was doing this from the ground from underneath, couldn't seem to get close especially on the left side. Didn't see it from above, next I was going to try to put it on ramps or hire my buddy's sister as she has small hands. I'm grasping at straws, any ideas?

There is a locking tab you have to slide out before you can push the release tab to remove the plug.
It is recommend to replace the upstream and downstream sensors on one bank at the same time.
Replacing one and not the other can give false readings and error codes.
In your case, if replacing both upstream sensors(bank 1 and bank 2), you should also replace both downstream sensors.

Thanks Scar0 I appreciate it, I'll do both sets then since the downstream seem easier to get to, but how do you reach that far up to get to the connector, I can't seem to get my arm up far enough, is there any tricks for that?

Sorry my bad. To many plugs I've been dealing with lately.
On the O2 sensor plugs there is just a tab that has to be pressed in to release it.
In my case I was replacing my clutch so I had the front prop shaft out at the time. Which gave me a little more room. Anyway, I used a long flat bladed screwdriver to depress the tab and (you did not hear this from me) I just gently pulled on the wire till it popped out.
What I should have done was to use long pliers to grasp the plug body.
When I connected it, I used the same screwdriver to push it into the socket.

Thanks Scar0 I appreciate that, I didn't think of using a screwdriver or pliers, I'll give that a try tomorrow.

You're welcome.
Sorry about the miss-post earlier. It's been a couple years since I replaced the clutch.
I actually had to crawl under the rig again to remember how I did it. LOL
The only way to drop the trany is to remove that bank 1, O2 sensor 1.
Had they made the hole for it just a bit more forward, or facing the rear, the trany could have dropped right out.
The engineers are obviously not mechanics! :banghead:

No lol they are not, they fit a lot of things into strange locations, I did get one of the sensors replaced so thanks again, I'm just going to find some longer pliers for the other one, or drop the driveshaft.
