Post subject:  Slight Rough Idle/Stuttering in reverse

Lately I've noticed a slight rough idle when sitting still or in park and also when reversing up a hill, if I only lightly press on the gas instead of it accelerating at a steady pace it seems to stutter (almost like what driving on a flat tire feels like in a way) only at very low speeds under 5 mph, it only does this in reverse and a slight noise accompanies it in reverse or in drive, however only the noise is present in drive and not the actual feeling

What could be the cause of this? it's still under warranty from the dealer I bought it from so want to eliminate any major issues soon

Thanks!

Are you using Hill Start Assist?
Pull the intake tube off the throttle body, open the butterfly valve and clean the TB throat.

I believe that feature is enabled, it brakes when on a hill and then eventually rolls back. I will work on cleaning that in the near future and see if that helps

When were the spark plugs last changed? They need to be changed every 30k miles. Use only ZFR6F-11G in the 3.7. OEM is NGK brand and is what I use.
Do not use platinum or iridium plugs in the 3.7. They will only cause problems.

Another thing you can do is to pull the EGR off and clean/replace it. They are known to carbon up.

Just got it at 90k, based on the service records they have never been replaced, which is shocking considering everything else is listed there and was maintained pretty well. So those are definitely due, could that also cause poor fuel economy, because I'm getting maybe 10mpg instead of 13-19

It’s definitely possible. New plugs gapped properly would ensure complete and efficient combustion. I think you’ll not only see a slight uptick in mileage, but also a bit more oomph with the skinny pedal. If the air filter has never been changed, that is another easy DIY. Running a couple of tanks of Lucas fuel treatment will get any gunk out of your injectors.

Oh ya, I'd definitely change the plugs. Only take a little bit of time and the cost is minimal.
