I have a 08 Liberty . I was wondering how hot my brake rotors should be after highway driving? I used a heat gun and they measured around 260 F. How hot do yours get?
Are hub bearings often a problem?
thanks Gary

Wow, they shouldn’t be that hot after driving. That’s hot enough to turn water into steam. I would check to make sure you don’t have a stuck brake caliper. Notice a lack of power or reduced mpg from the drag? If a bearing was dying, you’d hear it and it would sound like a weed whacker. Sticking calipers is common enough on KK’s to make me suspect that.

If it was a long highway drive and measured right after(heavy braking normal once off highway since you feel like your going slow) than no that would be pretty normal.

Heck last time I was at MOAB my tires temped at close to 200 degrees getting off Hells Revenge and I never got above 10mph.
