Hi All, I got a check engine light this evening. I ran the Jeep about a mile to the store to run an errand, then came outside and started it up to go home. About 10 seconds after restarting the engine the light came on. There’s no change in engine performance or any telltale sign that anything is amiss except the light is on. My Scangauge says p0138. From researching this, I see that it’s high voltage on the drivers side downstream (after the cat) O2 sensor. It could be a short in the wiring or the O2 sensor could be bad (most common reasons online). How difficult is it to reach this sensor and get it out? Has anyone fixed this before? Is it usually a bad sensor that’s causing the problem? 155,500 miles on the clock. Thanks for your help. |

Just in case anyone searches for this problem later... A new Mopar oxygen sensor did the trick! Part number 56029049AA. I had a shop do the swap as I had the Jeep in for some other services at the same time. |
