I have stock suspension and I'm not looking to do any lift, currently have 235/60R18 good year fortera. I am lookin at the same size yokohama geolandar. I prefer to get a smoother riding tire , even possibly a good allweather tire to do so. I don't do any real off roading except beach, The beaches here on Long Island are very soft deep sugar like sand. For these types of beaches what tires would do well? Do I realy need true AT tires?

Thanks in Adavance,
Joe

P.S.
I do not like the Fortera's one bit. When they are new they sound and drive great, After about 20K they get loud and the ride feels like crap. Plus the fact I think they stopped making that size.

For the LI beaches you want the least agressive tire so you can air down a bit and float on the sand. The geolanders should be fine on road as well. The stock goodyears you mention are terrible. I ditched mine at about 20k miles as well. Poor on road, poor in wet, poor in snow. The geolander AT-s were on my short list, but I ultimately went with Hankook Dynapro's. I have a lift and went with 255/60R18.
