First, see if it is a glitch. Unhook your battery overnight to clear the computer and see if it happens again. If it does, my first thought would be a bad wheel speed sensor (or broken wires going to it). Without being able to read the speed of each wheel the computer can’t run the antilock brakes, electronic stability program, or brake lock differential when in 4wd. You could verify this by getting an auto parts store to read the codes for free. You may have pending codes even if the check engine light is off. |

so an update. I took it to the local shop and it gave a bunch of error codes saying it lost connection , or status pending on everything speed related(ABS, Traction control, 4x4, cruise). but no codes saying which speed sensor it was. Going to try auto zone cause they have a different computer. Funny thing is the speedometer keeps trying to come back on then it does the warning sound then goes back off, more annoying then an issue. |

So finally got the light tested and said it's the A speed sensor , which I guess is the transmission speed sensor . Has anyone replaced one of these , is it really difficult? |

Not difficult, and there are 2. Both on the left side. Both the same part. Not really expensive, so best to change them as a pair. Front is input speed sensor, rear is output speed sensor. They need to agree or things get dicey. |
