Hi Everyone. My 2010 KK recently developed a small leak in the transmission portion of the stock condenser/tranny cooler. I'd like to avoid replacing the whole unit as that would require a recharge of the A/C system. Has anyone installed an auxiliary tranny cooler in lieu of the stock condenser unit in their kk's? If so, how has this setup worked out for you? I understand the reasoning behind not bypassing an in radiator unit due to the thermal exchange used to maintain optimal operating temps in other vehicles but if I'm understanding what I've read correctly from other forums and threads our transmission uses a thermal valve that bypasses flow to the cooler until operating fluid temperature is reached (thus never touching the radiator). Is there anything I may not be considering or missing? Thanks for the feedback.
