Weird question but I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty Sport and when I hold the trip reset button for about 10 seconds “VAR 10” pops up on the left dash screen where the temp and compass is. If I press the trip button again it will change from 10 to any setting between 1-15. Does anyone know what this setting is for?

Sounds like you are setting the Compass Variance.
Different areas of the world have a slightly different magnetic North. See page 247 of the owners manual.
