I have a 2010 Jeep KK Liberty Sport. I have the stuff necessary to measure the Trans fluid level but I believe the level is too low to get an accurate temperature reading. ( Drove 20 miles to work and the temp only registered 40 degrees F). I do have a small leak which I am going to try and fix this week. Does any 1 know what the fluid level should read on 1 of the aftermarket dipsticks when cold? (vehicle has sat overnight). Need a starting point to get an accurate trans temperature reading. Thanks for any help you guys can give. Scott D. Orbaker |

Level when cold is very inaccurate. You can run it in your driveway and it will get up to temp eventually. I test mine when its about 80*c At that temp it should be about 45mm |

I understand that at cold the level is inaccurate. My problem is the trans temp is only getting to about 40 degrees F which I believe indicates the sensor is not actually touching the fluid. I just need an idea where the level should be cold to see if my theory is right or if something else is going on. |

What is your ambient air temp? If its above 40F then you probably have an inaccurate reading |
