Greetings To The Lost World! I need help with a problem. I either need someone to come rip out the front wall on my garage, and build me a new one that is higher, or I need a low profile antenna for the back of Lando that will work for the AM/FM/Sirius/GPS radio. Does such a low profile antenna exist? Thanks for the help in advance!!! |

Greetings To The LOST World! Well a lot of you viewed the topic; so that tells me I am not alone in having this issue, but nobody responded with a solution, so I had to find my own. Well after some long research I found what I thought I wanted from the Amazonians. A low profile radio antenna replacement. It is made here in the U.S., and made out of real metal! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007P ... UTF8&psc=1 I ordered it, and it arrived. It is very well made, and I am pleased with the finish, and fit to the truck. It actually has some weight to it when you hold it in your hand. That kind of exudes the quality aspect when you are working with it. I actually wanted to test its reception capability. Some reviews on the Amazon site said that they thought it had a poor reception ability. So I tuned in one of my favorite stations that is further away from home, and harder to receive. I removed the existing antenna, and I lost all reception of the station. I put on the new antenna, and while doing so I experienced some very poor reception of the station. Once I let go of the antenna I suddenly had much better reception. So here is my crude thoughts just listening to the reception by ear without any dedicated signal strength monitoring equipment. Using the factory antenna as our base line for reception we have to say on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best that the factory antenna is a 10. No antenna is a 2. The new Stubby brand antenna is a solid 8. The best part is that now the truck can easily go in, and out of the garage without hitting the garage door! |

I swapped out the OEM antenna for that one, and it pulls in more stations than the original. Very rural here. |

Here in Australia the antenna is located in the glass of one of the rear side windows. It works fine. |

I had a Lincoln Navigator that had the antenna in the rear, side glass, and then had a second antenna in the windshield. The radio sampled both antennas until it determined which one had the best reception at any given moment. It was amazing the reception that system could pull in. |
