Post subject:  Jeepinbyal issues??

I am about to order my lift kit.

Lately on the Facebook groups ive been seeing alot of complaints about jeepinbyal. Poor communication, not answering emails and phone, parts not showing up in a timely manner and when they do they are all dinged up, control arms only lasting a year before needing rebuild etc.

Obviously this is making me a little uncomfortable as a perspective buyer. Is this a common practice with this company or what?

if you have seen horror stories i wouldn't mess with them. just one or two that one thing but if you've seen numerous reports id order elsewhere. that just my .02. i have never ordered from there i just know a lot of posts people will read and not respond. is it specific to their website or can you find the product elsewhere?

Thats what I find odd. On here they seem to have a good rep. They are the only supplier for certain parts of the lift. the ome springs can be had anywhere, but being in Canada id like to order all from one spot to save shipping.

Owner of a 4” JBA lift kit going on 100,000 miles lifted. Only one ball joint needing rebuild in the whole time. Marlin (JBA owner) has been great working with me to refine & add parts (different end links on track bar, rear extended sway bar links) so I have had really good customer service experiences with JBA over the years. If you’re hearing bad things about JBA on FB it doesn’t mesh with my experience or most people here on the forum. That’s not to say sometimes a bad part doesn’t ship but Marlin stood by his product and made it right the few times I’ve heard of that happening since I joined LOST in 2011. IMO you can’t get a better quality lift kit for the KK or the level of customer service from other companies.

Even people with the very best of reputations can have injuries, accidents, or (broad category) "family emergencies" that require their immediate attention, and may have people fill in while they are away. At this time, it's even likely the weather is likely creating issues for them.

I'm just saying, unless you're in an enormous hurry yourself, give them a chance, at least until you're contacted them yourself and gotten some definite word of what's going on at their end. And certainly before propagating rumors that could seriously further damage a business with a long history of providing products for this little niche group. (that's what we are, compared to the CJ / wrangler market)

Thats why im asking. It seems 100% opposite of this sites experiences. It seemed odd that this site has such positive experiences but the kk Facebook group seemed to have a very different experience.

Some guessed that they are good at shipping their parts, but the OME parts are drop shipped.

In no way disparaging the company but asking for actual experiences before I get going. Being in Canada it is a little harder when it comes to shipping things back and forth.

Understood.
As lfhoward suggests, contact Marlin, and give him a chance to respond to your needs and concerns.

Let us know how that works out. /  / :furious: / :juggle:

I can speak for the KA crowd, several KK owners I know, and myself.

Preclude: I was not comped my lift. I paid for it! I get no $ from JBA if someone orders a lift from them. I recommend their products because my lift works great, is high quality, and I would have nothing less on my ride. It's been 10 years with my 2.5" lift with ZERO issues.

My rig (KA) was used to prototype, test, and develop the 2.5" lift for the KA(which is the same lift the KK uses). I am not near JBA so we had to work together long distance. I'm in WA state.
We went thru several different revisions and tested several variations of components(springs, A-arms, shocks) during the development phase. During that whole time the communication was great, and support was above and beyond.
During the process there was one period when communication was slow, but at that time Marlin was ill, so I can't hold that against him or the company.
All the parts that were sent to me arrived with no damage. Total parts would be = to 3 complete lifts. Parts that did not work were shipped back on JBA $.
Once we had a component setup that worked, JBA started selling kits.
During this same time Diggerfreek from here on Lost was working with Marlin to develop the KK 4" lift. Digger and I talked a lot during this time. He related a similar experience with Marlin and JBA as I had.

Speaking for the KA crowd, I know numerous KA owners(from in the US, Canada, and abroad) who have ordered from JBA, and there was only one issue I have heard about. A set of KJ rear springs were shipped by mistake. Correct replacements were shipped and arrived in 3 days.
Now most KK owners don't know this, but the KA was made in 07 and in 07 the KJ was still produced. The issue with the rear springs was a rig clarification problem. On whose part I can not say, but JBA made it right ASAP.

The testimonials here on Lost can talk for the KJ and KK crowd.

To the OP of this thread, I wonder who is running the KK Facebook group? Is it a competitor of JBA? That would explain a lot.

I dont know who runs the kk group. I dont think its a competitor though, as JBA is recommended from time to time.

It was just a recent post by a member asking about the shipping and how he had a few boxes but only one was shipped out. Then other members chimed in about the ball joints going bad in no time, ome struts coming banged up etc.

But really I dont have much of a choice, I will be ordering through them as there is no option, was just curious of the general consensus.

I can say from my experience, and the 1 KA with the rear spring issue, if it is not right, Marlin makes it right.
The 1 KA issue with the rear springs was actually one I assisted with the install.
Like others have said, reach out to Marlin and have a chat about your concerns.

CALL !
Never had any issues and as far as people talking smack about JBA, they are just Facebook dic*heads who think they can use UCAs from a Bravado instead of a good well made product

Well I eventually got a email back..brief.

Ill be ordering my lift next week.

As for the Facebook hate, I dunno it was about balljoints falling apart in less than a year, and the condition the parts came in. Something about drop shipping.

Doesn't matter, im going to order my lift next week. Ill update my experience.

JBA stopped stocking/shipping KK lifts as of 01 JUNE 2019. So, if you got yours BEFORE that date. Great. If not, it could be a blessing. Nothing like buy parts only to have them disappear overnight w/o warning. Not saying people were not warned but on another thread, that doesn't seem to be the case with JBA. They are going to focus on "A" arms. One of mine is starting to show signs of wear so, I might need another "A" arm source LOL. :BINGO:
