Post subject:  Antenna base replacement

I posted this on jeepforum last week because I forgot my username for lostjeeps. I didn't get any responses over there, so I had to create a new username but hopefully I have better luck this time:

My wife backed her 2012 out of the garage, however she failed to wait for the garage door to open all the way and broke off the antenna mast and pulled the base loose. Now it leaks when it rains. The threads of the mast broke off inside the base so I figured I better replace both. Does anyone have steps to remove the base? I know I am going to have to access underneath the headliner. I am hoping there is a way to just lower it enough to get my hand in there, I don't want to have to completely drop it or worry about creasing it. I have never had to get under the headliner before so I do not know what all I need to do or remove to access it safely. Usually I am working on my wrangler, so I have never even had to worry about headliners before.

Thanks!
J

This fellow on YouTube may have a solution for you:

If you decide to replace the factory mount, I would recommend you try my antenna solution to help get in, and out of the garage.
