has anyone here add a larger front "pusher" Fan to the front of the radiator to push more air and/or help the puller fan on the back side of the radiator? I did the grill mod and it is all open so I have 20" by 19" of space. looking at the 16" fan. just wanted to see if anyone has done this yet? thoughts.... |

Just some thoughts. Not saying not to do it, but I personally wouldn't. Pusher fans are inherently less efficient, as they draw much more current per CFM, due to operating in a higher pressure environment. If you are needing more air flow you can get more results in other ways. 1) pull your front stack and pressure-wash all of them, and straighten any bent fins. 2) Are there any lighter more efficient fan combos for the V6 similar to the HDGM mod for the CRDs? 3) Use foam doweling in proper sizes to seal the border spaces (ALL sides) between the radiator - AC condenser - (trans cooler if you have one.) This prevents outside air from sneaking in AROUND your AC cooler, etc rather than drawing through. These are all improvements that don't increase current draw on your alternator. |

Having owned a number of TJ Wranglers I have seen, and dealt with cooling issues. These KK's have excellent cooling capabilities with their electric fan set up. If yours is not cooling, try the cleaning, and sealing processes that have been suggested, but if you still get no improvement than most likely your radiator has a lot of internal clogging, and it is time to get it rebuilt at a quality radiator shop. I personally like having a professional guy rebuild the one that comes with the truck rather than buying some unknown cheapo thing from the parts store. Aftermarket radiators just do not hold up well. |

Yes, the HD cooling fan can be (reverse) screwed on to the threads on the stock water pump. There should be a plastic cap that comes off the spindle revealing the threads. |
