I have code Po846.

Went looking for the transmission valve pan that comes with all the solenoids on it. Dealers and the on-line Mopar parts houses all say its back ordered until sometime in October.

Anyone have an idea on what is going on? It implies they have discovered a problem and are revising the parts.

Could you use a 545RFE instead?

No. Only the valve body for the 42rle fits the 42rle. they are not interchangeable.

I may have one that needs rebuilt.

One came by via trade, at least I think that's what it is. I need to get to it and get the numbers.

Follow up.
The shop that told the valve body needed to be replaced was wrong. The problem was burned clutches from driving it 1.5 miles with low ATF. -- which the dealer said could not happen; that if the ATF was too low, it would not drive.

The source of the leak was never found, but it pointed to a need to get a transmission dip stick and periodically checking the ATF level.
