The sensor that controls the interior lights, buzzer, and door ajar, is integrated into the latch. If the latch is removed, or harness to the latch is disconnected, none of the above will work.
I do not know whether that sensor is normally closed or normally open. But you can test it using the pins in the latch(Not the body harness side, the lock/latch side) Ohm test pin 3 to pin 4, then closed the latch manually(screwdriver inserted into the latch catch and push/rotate it closed). Should be 2 clicks. Ohm test Pin 3 to pin 4, again. If it had no continuity with the latch open and continuity with it closed (or visa-versa) then the sensor in the latch is OK. Body side of the harness pin colors should be Pin 3 violet and Pin 4 Black/pink(next to each other). Not sure if those wire colors carry over to the latch side of the plug, but you can see what connects to where.
If the sensor is bad you will need to replace the latch/lock.
