The Chrysler 3.7L PowerTech/Magnum engine is equipped with a sequential multiport fuel injection system and an electronic ignition system with a separate ignition coil for each cylinder. Basically, a SFI (sequential fuel injection) system has a fuel injector for each individual cylinder. Each injector sprays fuel (gasoline) into the system at 30-40 PSI right before the intake valve. This air/fuel mixture is then pulled into the cylinder past the intake valve on the intake stroke of each piston and is then compressed and ignited by the spark plug to produce the downward power stroke of the piston.
