Hi Guys/Ladies, this is my first post so please be gentle.
I am after a little bit of help if possible. I have just come back from a drive in my car and when I got in and started the car the following lights remain illuminated on the dash panel.

ABS, ESP BAS, SERV 4WD and the Skidding car light.

Any ideas what this could be, could it be a simple fuse blown or may it be something more serious?

What should I try to look for after checking the fuses. Any relays or wiring issues to check.

I recently had a service where the rear brake pads and brake for the parking brake (emergency brake) had to be adjusted at the rear wheels.

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Paul.

Hi Paul, welcome.

These lights all get tripped at once when a wheel speed sensor has malfunctioned. It could be a bad sensor or a dirty connector or a pinched wire. It could also be a rusted out tone ring (that the sensor reads) inside of the hub, depending on if you live in the rust belt.

Best thing to do is go somewhere that they have a scanner to read ABS codes, so you can find out which wheel the problem is at. Try an auto parts store — they usually read codes for free.

Thanks for the information. I'm in the UK and nothing here is for free.

Do you know where the OBD plug is on the Cherokee KK. I have a diagnostic scanner I can use. This should tell me which sensor is at fault

On the US version it is under the left side of the dash near the drivers (port side) door.

Depending on how good your scanner is, it may or may not read ABS codes. Hope it does! (My OBD scanner just reads engine codes.)

Hi Paul, did you manage to get the brake related dash light problem sorted, I've got the same problem apart from the 4wd light.
Was it a sensor or the ABS pump ?
I've got a 2008 KK diesel & live in the UK
