I spilled about three gallons of gasoline in the back and have use a steam vac and a whole lot of fabreeze and it still smells like gas. Any good ideas out there. |

Id say take the carpet out and deal with it that way. There is so much padding under that carpet its not funny. My drivers door leaked one time, I had to leave it pulled up for 3 days just so it could dry out. |

I wouldn't be surprsised if the gasoline ate the padding underneath. Petroleum products have a nack for disolving things. I would pull it up ASAP and make dang sure you got every drop of it, or at least to give any trapped pockets of gasoline a chance to evaporate. Believe me, liquids under your carpet dont go away unless you tell them to. Even then they are stubborn. I would also recommend calling a local carpet store and ask them about removing the smell from gasoline stained fabric. Good luck. Hope you dont smoke... |
