Post subject:  Cloth seat wearing poorly
I have a 2005 limited with cloth interior. I was never much of a fan of the cloth that they used, but my driver's seat is already showing bad wear patterns on the seat and on the backrest. It's kind of like when an old sweater starts pilling. Anyone else have this problem. Are there any solutions other than getting seat covers? I'm disappointed because the jeep only has 33,000 miles, I'm an average size guy, and I don't wear sandpaper on my butt or anything like that. :)

This problem along with the much talked about water spotting problem makes me wonder how much R&D was spent on this fabric. Wish I would've had the money to go for the leather seats!

I start out posts like this often, but I will never understand why they used cheap fabric and cheap leather. My leather started cracking on the edges after only 10k. :? You could try getting them steam cleaned to see if its just dirt/lint built up.

Only other option would be seat covers like I had to get. They look good though, and only cost a cheap $300. :shock:

after over 60K miles on my freedom edition my seats still look and feel brand new...

should've got the freedom edition :)

Hey! another Midwest member :D

I think Im just going to go for the seatcovers myself, probably the mopar neoprene ones. Cover it up and dont worry about it :lol:

If it's getting the little bumps like a sweater, try using a fabric shaver... like you use on, well, sweaters.
