even the deeper ones. i reemember there being something someone recommended that got rid of scratches, claybar will get rid of the swirl marks, but anything deep then yr paint you'll have to use ________(whats it called)

Okay, finally tried the scratch off stuff I had bought a couple years ago. The product was a bit dried out (wouldn't come out of the bottle). Not sure if this changed the effectiveness of the product but I put a little water in the bottle and shook it up to make it pastey again. Tried it on some well earned pinstripes. From inside the garage, it looked like it worked on a few scratches, but for most of them, there was no obvious difference. Went ahead and waxed the Reny afterwards. It is night now so I will have to wait until morning to see how the KJ looks. Anyone know of the best product (within a reasonable price) out there for removing or greatly reducing those well earned pinstripes? |

I've heard good things about claybar from a WRX forum I frequent. I'll have to give it a try sometime. |

Man did she look good out in the bright sun today. I actually could barely see the scratches at all! That includes the ones I didn't try treating. Smooth and shiney! |

Tokyojoe, if you can feel the scratches with your finger nail then it would require some skill to remove the scratch.. probably more than you would feel comfortable doing. Meguiars Scratch-x is a great product for removing minor scratches. Its not a wipe on wipe off product though. You must work the product into the paint until it turns clear, kinda like vasoline. I like to call it, putting a little passion behind the pad. It may require a few application's to remove the scratch also. Remember, when you remove a scratch, you are lowering the clearcoat to the level of the scratch..
