Hey guys,

Tried this today while washing my Liberty, and it worked great. Buy some Simple Green household or Simple Green Max Automotive cleaner and scrub your spare tire cover. If you have one with the Jeep and Liberty logos on the cover, the white lettering tends to get a bit dull or dirty and never seems to get cleaner from wash to wash. I took Simple Green, sprayed the whole cover, and used a small bristle brush to scour it down. I especially spent extra time scouring lightly in circles over the white lettering, then rinsed off. What a difference, you can actually see the white now!! I did this twice today, as it have never been done, since buying my Liberty used. Just another trick to add to your cleaning.

On another note, I have always used Simple Green on my vehicles to clean and scrub my tires. Using the same type of small bristle brush, Simple Green does an excellent cleaning job on the tires, and brings out the white on white-letter tires. Gets rid of all that grease, brade dust, etc.

Try it out.

Works on anything, plus I find the household stuff just as good as the Automotive variety. With Simple Green, it's concentrated in the Household form, so you can make it stronger if you like.

Simple green is good stuff. I actually cleaned my tire cover with a leather cleaner when I bought it the other day. I used a stiff bristled nylon brush and it turned those brown letters white again. I actually used it on the whole cover and it looks brand new.

yea i have tried that simple green in the foamy spraycan on my engine. amazing stuff! works so much better than gunk on my engine and is much safer for the engine too. gunk just smells like its not good for your paint or engine parts, and is toxic and bad for the environment

although i was in home depot the other day and now(i dunno how long its been out lol) simple green has this stronger purple stuff in a concentrated jug im going to try. its for automotive and it overall stronger degreaser stuff thats still safe on everything. i mgonna try it on my engine and undercarriage

The leather cleaner I used is from a cleaning wholesaler called Malco. We get it through my work. Its just called "Leather and Plastic Cleaner." Its not the conditioner creme, but a liquid cleaner. I'm not sure if the ones at the store would work since I havent tried them. I assume they would. But Simple Green seems like a great alternative, right everyone? ")
