So, I have the Mopar HD mudflaps (flexible rubber kind). They do a great job except that dirty water and mud have a way of draining down the underside of my fender flares and down the back of the mud flaps. If you've ever been in GA, you know that muddy residue is a nasty shade of orange and you don't want to have to get it out of anything, especially soft rubber. Needless to say, I'd like to keep the dirt on the inside of the wheel wells and the tires.
Here's the question: Can I use some clear silicone on the inside edge of my flares where the flaps attach to seal the place where the water is leaking back there and if I do so, Will it damage the paint if/when I peel it off (since it's a limited with painted fender flares), or is the paint bond tough enough that silicone bonding to it will be removeable?
Dan
