So, after a long-overdue wash last weekend, I identified the normal spots of tar and gook on the paint that needed extra care, around the exhaust, etc. Normally a few dabs of meguiars paint cleaner will make short order of the grit and leave things smooth. This time, I found a LOT of junk down by the front edges of the rear fender flares (back, bottom edge of the rear doors). The body panels cleaned up fine, but the fenders seemed to hold onto the road gunk WAY more than normal. I tried a little 409 incase it needed a little degreasing...nada.
I'm worried to rub any products too hard there since the painted plastic panels are so darned soft anyway. Can I clay-bar that surface? I've never tried the plastic before and don't want to find out it's a bad idea after the fact.
Thanks.
Dan
