I have a black 04 Renegade and it shows dirt, bugs, dust really easy. I usually wax about 4 times a year and usually takes me all day. I am a big fan of Meguiar's products and even have their random orbital polisher, makes life a lot easier and makes for an unbelievable shine. I generally use a 2 or 3 step process to get the Jeep to a deep shine. But before I do that I have to clean off the bugs, tar and sap that get stuck to the paint. I like to use Meguiars Clay Bar for this with Meguiars Final Detailer as a lub for the bar(its kinda like wet sanding the paint, just not as aggressive as it is super fine compared to sandpaper). It will pull off cooked on bugs, tar and any other bonded crap that wont come off just from washing it. Mothers makes a clay bar system as well and they are all pretty much the same. I even use it to clean the windshield of all the baked on crap that windex wont take off. |

Just FYI, bird poop and bugs both, left on the paint too long will actually eat into the clearcoat, and your rig will never look the same. So clean those suckers off ASAP, don't just wash your ride once a month guys! thank god it's winter, no more bugs:D |
