Dealer is trying to tella co-worker that his patriot needs a $90 dollar oil change, costs me $12.50 for my Libby doesn't sound right to me does the patriot need synthetic or is the dealer ripping him off.

Any info is appreciated

sounds like a rip-off to me, my dealership charges $29.50 for an oil change

That is way too much unless maybe something elce is involved. They might take 5w20 or 5w30 - possibly synthetic - depends what the owners manual says. You should tell him to check another place. Syn is more expensive, but not that expensive.

I know on the KJ the dealer sends me flyers and they will do it for $25.99 or something like that (under $30). That's 5 qts of dino and filter. I do mine myself though.

It requires 5w-20 oil which is always a synthetic blend or full synthetic.$90 is a bit much but the norm around here in CO is about $30-$40 for a 5w-20 oil change(5qts or under).

I like to do mine myself but it is actually cheaper for me to let my father-in-law to do it. I can't even buy the oil for the price he changes it for
