Hello all!

My name is R.J. and I'm a relatively new member here. I say relatively because I was a member here a few years back (as KJJustice) when I owned a Liberty.

Due to some poor personal choices, I no longer own a Liberty. I did, recently, come back into the Jeep fold with the purchase of a 2008 Compass Sport FWD. It wasn't my initial choice as a vehicle to purchase, considering the backlash I've heard some Jeep owners give the Compass. But, I got a super deal on it and I needed to get my credit back into a better shape, so, I jumped on it. (Bankruptcy and divorce both suck. Avoid them at all costs. ) And so, even though it's not a true Jeep 4x4, I felt compelled to come back to this great site and become a member again. :D

So, the obvious first question to those who know.....What the Hell can I do to this thing? I know it probably can't be lifted or big rubber added to it. But, is there some ways to improve it? Whether it would be it's driveability or traction or whatever.

Again, I'm glad to be back. Any tips or tricks dealing with the Compass, feel free to chime in. Thanks a bunch and glad to be L.O.S.T. all over again!

Welcome back to LOST!

I know they get bashed here a lot, but here's a lift kit & rails for the Patriot & Compass.

Thanks for the replies, folks! I honestly didn't know there was a lift out for the Compass. Hell, I didn't even know you COULD lift it! Leave it to RRO to come up with it. Looks nice, too. Not a whole lot of lift, but, every little bit helps. I'll have to look into getting it. :pepper:

So, how do you boys & girls like your Compass/Patriot? When I first saw them on the market, I'll admit I was disappointed. I was used to seeing either a "right-out-of-the-box rockcrawler (Wrangler) or a luxury hauler that stills kicks butt in the dirt (Grand Cherokee). Even the Liberty grew on me after I looked into it and owned it. But, the Compass just reminded me of the "cute-utes" that are more for parents who want the look, but, don't want the four wheel drive because of gas mileage. The Patriot looked a little better, but still didn't have that "Jeep Attitude" that I was used to seeing.

After driving the Compass for a little over a week, I've grown to enjoy it, and time will tell if I consider it to be worthy of the Jeep badge. We will see.

Thanks again to all! :SOMBRERO:

After-reading my last post I thought I should clarify who gets bashed here often.... I was saying RRO gets bashed here a lot, not the Compass or Patriot.
