Just wanted to drop by and check in. Been out car shopping for a bit and hopped on this site when I was considering a Liberty. Still like the liberty's, but they just didn't really fit the bill. After much research I ended up with a 2013 Jeep Patriot Latitude, with FDll as well as a Freedom Edition with uconnect 430. I'm very happy with my decision.

That's a nice looking Patriot you've got there! I hope you like it. My brother has an '08 Patriot that he loves and will probably keep until it dies.

Wow that's sharp!
Is the paint factory or did you do that bottom half black?

Thanks for the complements guys! To answer some questions, the paint is OEM. 2011+ have the black cladding on the bottom of all Patriots. Just snowed here in Idaho yesterday, and the Pat handled extremely well. I am very happy with it.

The paint really gives it character.
A new KK member posted here not long ago and he did the same thing to his, but I'd imagine it was plastidip or bedliner of some sort.
How's she shifting with the bigger meats on there?

Shifts just fine. The CVT will rev up a tad higher in RPM before it "shifts" in regular driving. If I'm frugal with the skinny pedal, I can get the CVT to "shift" at it's regular RPMs, but other than that you really cant tell the difference (besides in the mpgs).

I don't know much or anything about CVT transmissions. Was curious how a little engine would feel about moving the Patriot with the added weight. What are your mpgs?

before winter was averaging about 19-20mpg with the oversized tires. now around 17-18 with winter blend gas, and having to warm up the jeep. (its been 0-15 degrees all week)

Hello Ming that Patriot looks great!

I've been doin research for about 3 weeks now and I'm ready to buy my new or used 4x4 Patriot! I'm going Saturday 3/15/14 I have 3 picked out.

1st choice
Black 2014 FDI 6 speed auto with 2.4 has 0 miles

2nd
Silver 2012 FDI cvt 2.4 has 36,000 miles

3rd
Recovery Green 2012 cvt FDI 2.4 has 48,000 and a brush gaurd.

Is there anything in particular I should test out, ask about, or look for in the 2012's?

I really hope the salesman I've been talking to hasn't been BS'ing me and when I get there says all I can get you in at the monthly payment you want is a 4x2 with a 2.0. Wish me luck guys and I hope to have some pics on here soon. Sorry if I posted to the wrong this is the first forum I've ever been on.

That's a nice looking Patriot. I have always liked those and might someday get one if we need a second vehicle.

FYI, there is only one lift kit out there for the Patriot that I know of, made by Rocky Road Outfitters. Not sure if you would be interested, but it thought I'd post the link.

I was eying the Patriot for a while and like them a lot. For better mpg and a more affordable ride they are hard to beat. Looks great! :D
