Can anyone help, my 2008 patriot won't start, doesn't make any noise when key is turned. Had starter motor fixed a few months ago and battery is new getting 12.4v on multi meter. Noticed the copper earth wire from chassis to engine was snapped and replaced it, still nothing. Any help is well appreciated and it's right hand drive. Thanks in advance.

do the lights turn on?
was the replaced ground wire the same size diameter wire as stock or larger?
can you hear the fuel pump prime?
is someone under the jeep when being attempted to be started --- is there any clicking in the starter when being "started"

im not an expert on battery voltages but from what I can recall, with the car charging the battery it should be like 13.x volts to 14.3 volts. not sure about the voltage with it just sitting there.

disconnect the battery to reset the ecu. see if that helps.

im not an expert on starters but when I was in the construction field, we had a paver that the starter and relay constantly went bad. we banged the sh*t out of it till it started with a wrench. 9 times out of 10 it worked.

it really sounds like your battery died. if your radio says its locked, it at some point lost a workable voltage to operate at.

throw a battery charger on there, like a 50A charger or one that has the option start on it. that's of course after you disconnect the battery. you'll have to take the jeep in to FCA once the jeep starts up anyways to get the radio unlocked. make sure you grab that code from them as well.

again can you hear the full pump prime and the starter clicking?

No noise off fuel pump or starter, gonna check clutch switch tomorrow been at it all day and it's been snowing my fingers were nearly falling off, tried to jump it but no luck. Its funny my obd reader is not connecting to ecu, could maybe be a problem with that. Thank again for all your help its well appreciated.

sorry none of that worked out.

it could be possible your ignition barrel contacts are worn out. are you using the factory key fob? if your not hearing the fuel pump prime that's issue number 1. that should still prime at 11 or so volts.

what state/country do you live in?

strange other form members aren't hopping on this topic by now! :ALONE:

Using the normal fob key, from Scotland. If I tried to start it without pressing in clutch when it was running it wouldn't make any sound nor would the fuel prime, that's why I'm going to check clutch switch tomorrow, had it 3 years and replaced: turbo, alternator, starter motor, battery, and just done pad and discs last week, plus my track rod end was away. Not had great luck with it. Everyone says get rid of it but it's practically all new parts in it. Lol.
Thanks again
