Hi all,
I'm looking at a 2008 Patriot 4x4 2.4L automatic. Seller says it needs a new TIPM. He says it's sending false codes and the car will randomly go into limp mode. Shut it off, wait a couple minutes and it'll run fine until it happens again. Does this sound right as to a bad TIPM? I've never had one go bad on me so I don't know.

See this:> http://www.chryslerproblems.com/tipm/

There is a lot of component in the TIPM, a bad TIPM can be responsible for many different problem.
I had to change one on a Ram 3500 to fix a headlight not working......

If it was that easy the seller would have done the repair already !!!!
