So looks like I will need something bigger to drive around in..can anyone tell me a bit about the Commander?

What kind of MPG are we looking at with the hemi motor?
is the front diff steel or aluminum, what axle is in the rear?
How is the after market?

The third row and 4x4 is why I am considering this vehicle, others in the running are a Discovery or Land cruiser ( hard to find good ones)...so looking at larger pickups.

looking at some of these photos I am starting to think that the commander may be a pretty nice option. 8)

looks like a D44 in the rear with a V8 and the front I am reading is the same as the grand cherokee (WK??) which is steel. Cool, then there are probably gear options and lockers??

Gas mileage is not good but they're a beast off-road with quadra drive II. Stock front & rear automatic electronic limited slip /lockers.

You wont be disappointed.

I went with a 97 Land Cruiser (80 series) when I needed a bigger vehicle. It was the last year of the solid front axle and front and rear factory lockers. Only downfall is I average 11-12 MPG with my lift, 33's and armor. The engine is slooowww but for having 200K it runs like a champ. I am swapping in a diesel in the next couple months to make it last another 15 years.
There is plenty of aftermarket support. OME lifts, bumpers are cheaper than ones for the Liberty. Factory parts are a bit expensive.
As for inside space if you have the third row seats in you can seat 7.
The 100 series LC's still had a factory rear locker as an option on the 98-2001's I believe.
