OK OK, I did it....i put a set of 15in wheels on my KJ.

They are Kings 15 x 7in Steelies with "zero" offsett. The rims themselves sit exactly as my old original 16in KJ steelies with the spidertax 1.5 inch spacers. I can now not worry about having to fit the spacers to go offroading and feel much better about that. The tyre choice was simple.. Mickey Thompson MTZ's. It is all working beautifully so far, have done a few flex tests and I seem to get no more rubbing than I already had with the Cooper STT's 245/75/16's. The Mickey Thompson are exactly the same overall diameter as the Coopers and really when you put the two wheels beside each other there is very little difference. That is what I wanted as I did not want to limit articulation or have to push around bigger diameter tyres, beauty is that my speedo calibration remains the same when I change between the MTZ's and my road tyres Mickey Thompson 245/75/16's ATZ's. The big difference is that now I have much bigger side walls, much better for offroading and the ride and handling is great. I even get away with the spare in the original carrier/number plate holder (that was also a condition of mine for this size change), just need some longer bolts to lock swingarm inplace, will pop into a fasteners place tommorrow to get the right ones.

Will see how they perform on the weekend.

You may (fi you haven't already) want to check how they stuff in the rear & see if your going to rub/cut on the pinch weld in the wheel arch.

Hey Cmohr, do you know what the story is with KJ Ash's rims & rubber? Hope yours are OK, I'm thinking your still happy as youve been offroad with them and still have them.

Yeah. I've been chatting with him about it, Not sure way he's getting rubbing in the front, as mine is clear and free, but sound like he's getting big rubbing on the flares in the rear, sound like he could just do with some bumpstops. Would be good if you are able to catch up with him and have a bit of a look maybe you could see something, and let him know where and how much some rear bumpstops are???

Mine are great, still I am going to put in rear bumpstops, but, I was going to away with the 245/75/16's so no difference really on mine. They are "The POO" off road I can tell you :D :D
