I feel for you CD, first day back alway's is fraught with danger. Nothing work's
they way it should, the customer's are yelling at you, your lunch break is non-
exsistant and the coffee machine has gone on blink when you need it most.
But I have one question? WHY IS IT LIKE THAT FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR

I started working back in 1965 and walked away from my last contract last July (pretty much 43 years of that daily grind). Now my days are my own (well when my wife is not giving me a list of things to do WHILE SHE IS AT WORK). Had my youngest child's 21st last weekend and their all self supporting now. I still do a few little contracts/consulting jobs now and then but mostly my mornings are spent walking the dog, and picking up the newspaper at the local coffee shop, with afternoons set aside for the normal household maintenance, my hobby projects like my camper write up for Campertrailer Group, and planning my next trip. SO I sympathise CD, its a witch.

I started in 1964 and am still at it - trouble is I like what I do too much to want to chuck it in. Starting back today was more a case of "Thank God you're back - can you sort this out for me?"

I feel so much for those who are starting back, I had a hole 2 days off, Xmas day and boxing day. Now on my days off I'm scraping tiles and gloo off the walls and floor just for something to do.

I have been back a week and I dont like it.
I see CD and Pipeliner must be old buggers starting their working lives in 1965 and 1964.I must be the younger one as I started in 1963.
Must be younger and better looking I think. I am only working cause I cant afford to give up and she who should be obeyed at all times wont let me.

I feel good now, as one of the younger ones, I started full time work in 1968, $20 a week and paid Mum $5 board out of that.
Regards Spring Chicken.

This joke is based on an advertising campaign for eggs in the UK many years ago!

A friend of mine always used to go to work on an egg, but one morning he went to his garage and his egg wouldn't start. He went back indoors an phoned the Egg Marketing Board to ask what to do, and they suggested that, since it was a cold morning, he should try pulling the yolk out. Five minutes later he phoned them back to say "Thanks for the advice. I pulled the yolk out and it's all white now"!

You guys shouldn't give me the openings!
